We see that prophecy in 2Samuel 7:12; Psalms 89:35-37; Psalms 132:11; Isaiah 7:13; Isaiah 11:1, Isaiah 11:10; Jeremiah 23:5-6; Jeremiah 33:15-17; Amos 9:11; Matthew 1:1; Matthew 21:9; Matthew 22:42; Luke 1:31-33, Luke 1:69; John 7:42; Acts 2:30; Romans 1:3; Revelation 22:16.
Jesusis our Saviour.
For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.The note for this sentence, in the Book Study on the Gospel of Luke, explains this sentence. However, the important part, for this section, is the last phrase which tells us that all prophecies, dealing with His first time of living on this world as a literal physical man, would be fulfilled with His death and resurrection. The prophecies about
Christand the 1,000 years reign of
Christdid not
have an endat that time but the ones about

Jesus Christ. Please see the Prophecies Section for where these prophecies were made in the Gospels. In Luke 24:6-7 the angels told the women
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.(The resurrection of
Jesusis reported in Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; Luke 24:44 and John 20:1-10.) We also see this fulfillment in all of the references found in the Section called Appearances of Jesus Christ After the Resurrection. Thus, we not only see the fulfillment of prophecy stated within scripture, and we are told that this was the fulfillment of scripture. In addition, we also see this fulfillment of prophecy stated within the New Testament in: Matthew 26:54; Matthew 26:56; Mark 15:28; Luke 21:22; Luke 24:27; Luke 24:32; Luke 24:45-47; John 2:22; John 19:29; John 19:24; John 19:28; John 19:36; John 19:37; Acts 3:18; Acts 8:38; Acts 13:27-33; Acts 17:2-3; Acts 18:27-28; 1Corinthians 15:3-4; 1Peter 1:11. the Christin Matthew 16:16; Matthew 16:20; Matthew 26:63; Mark 8:29; Mark 14:61; Luke 3:15; Luke 9:20; Luke 22:67; John 1:20; John 1:41; John 3:28; John 4:29; John 4:42; John 7:41; John 10:24; John 10:27; John 20:31; 1John 2:22; 1John 5:1. One of the most common usages of this phrase is to associate
the Christwith
the Son of God. Thus we see that a major part of the argument here was over the Deity of
Jesus. The main reason for that argument was that the rulers of the Jews were denying this truth because it threatened their personal power and position.

as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth [Hell]. 1Corinthians 15:3-6; 2Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13; Titus 2:14 and 1Peter 1:11 are just a few of places in the New Testament that explain why Jesus Christ had to suffer.
Jesusis reported in Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22 and John 1:32. As part of that event, we read:
And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased(Mark 1:10-11). This is the fulfilment of a prophecy which God the Father gave to John the Baptist so that John could identify God's
Christ.
Jesuswould bind Satan and rob his house) was fulfilled.
Jesusis
Christ and Messiahin: Matthew 26:63; Mark 14:62; Luke 22:67-71 and John 10:24-25. In addition, we have the many places in the Gospel accounts where
Jesusdirectly and indirectly told them that he was the promised
Messiahsor
Christ. (Please see John 10:24-25 for an example.) The phrase
I am he, meaning that
Jesuswas the promised
Messiahsor
Christis found in John 8:24, John 8:28; 13:19; John 18:5, 6, John 18:8; Revelation 1:18 and Revelation 2:23. The phrase also occurs elsewhere meaning something else, but in each of the references listed here,
Jesusis claiming to be the promised
Messiahsor
Christ. We also see
Jesussaying the same, or similar, things in 15:24; Matthew 27:43; Luke 4:43; Luke 21:8; 22:70; and John 4:26; John 7:28-29; John 8:12, John 8:23; John 9:4-5; John 11:25 and John 19:21. Please see the note for Luke 22:70 to get a better explanation of this truth.

We see the fulfillment mentioned in: Matthew 1:1; Matthew 21:9; Matthew 22:42; Luke 1:31-33, Luke 1:69; Luke 2:10-11; John 7:42; John 7:42; John 18:36-37; Acts 2:30; Romans 1:3; Romans 15:12; 2Timothy 2:8; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 19:16 and Revelation 22:16. (The word
Messiahis the Hebrew word that matches the Greek word of
Christ.) Further, the promise to David from God was partially fulfilled in Solomon, but only partially. Since it was not completely fulfilled, the Jews understood that there was another physical descendent from David who would fulfill this prophecy (see Hebrews 4:6-9 for similar reasoning applied to
rest).
Christfound in Psalms 132:11; Isaiah 11:1; Jeremiah 23:5 and Micah 5:2. In addition, John 7:42 lets us know that many Jews knew this prophecy.

Jesusand then had their servants and guards do the same. John 18:22 also reports abuse but it was a different incident. In Matthew 27:30 and Mark 15:16-20 we are told that the Roman soldiers did the same. This is a fulfillment of the prophecy, from

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. It is a prophecy which gives signs which were seen in the early church. Those signs were given to verify that the people who received the signs were speaking for God. Those signs were for the time before the New Testament was written. One example is Acts 28:3-6. Since the New Testament has been written, God no longer uses these signs to show that someone speaks for God. We now check to see if their message actually matches the revealed character of God and if their message matches what is literally written in the
word of God.

Jesusprophesied this in John 7:33; John 13:33; John 14:3; John 14:12; John 14:19; John 14:28; John 16:5; John 16:7; John 16:10; John 16:16; John 20:17. And, this was also prophesied in the Old Testament in: Psalms 22:27; Psalms 98:3; Isaiah 32:15; Isaiah 42:10; Isaiah 44:3-4; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 52:10; Isaiah 59:20-21; Isaiah 66:19; Jeremiah 16:19; Joel 2:28-32; Micah 3:8; Zechariah 4:6.

Jesusreturned to Heaven. In addition, while the following points also are other places in the New Testament which provide similar doctrines, the links provided are for prophecies which we are told were fulfilled at this time.
for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved. This is part of the current ministry of
Jesus Christfor His church.
Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell.
neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Lord Jesus Christwould
sit on the right handof God the Father (the place of power just below God the Father) was fulfilled. We see this prophecy referenced in Matthew 22:44; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:42-43; Hebrews 1:13. We also see the same doctrine in Psalms 110:1; Mark 12:11; 1Corinthians 15:25; Ephesians 1:22 and Hebrews 10:12.
Christto rule this world for 1,000 years. However, our current chapter explains how the church used this future prophecy for an application of their day. Thus, we see prophecies can have more than one application.
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken. In Hebrews 3:1-2, Acts 3:33 and Acts 7:37; we are told that
Christ Jesusfulfilled this promise.
Christwere fulfilled by

I would also hear the man myself. This fulfills the prophecy by our
Lord Jesus Christ, in Acts 9:15, that Paul would testify of Him before kings.
As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.: The 'Church Age' is a fulfillment of Hosea 2:23. In addition, all of Hosea 2 is a prophecy of God buying back the Jews who truly repent.

For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. This verse quotes Psalms 69:6 which says
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. Therefore, this verse is directly linking this instruction to the verse which prophesied (
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up) that

Jesus Christwould ascend back to Heaven. The next sentence, in Ephesians, gives us the application of that prophecy which we still enjoy today.

the word of God.
I come quickly. Every one of those references promise a different blessing to the saved people who fulfill the particular requirement. This reference promises that our opportunities to lay up treasures in Heaven will be cut off suddenly.
Revelation 22:16 says: I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.
This tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ
is the true author. The angel
is: 'the messenger' who has a job to deliver the original message without altering it in any way. Think about if someone calls you on the phone and the function of the phone in that conversation. That is the function of God's 'the messenger' in delivering this Revelation. And, the 'the messenger' includes John and all of the angels
who delivered the messages and sights to John for him to relay to us.
Revelation 22:6 tells us These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done
. This tells us that ALL prophecy, found in the word of God
, is faithful and true
. In addition, 2Timothy 3:16-17 says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works
. That means that all of these prophecies are backed by the character of God. Any perversion of them is an attack on the character of God.
Revelation 1:10 says: What thou seest, write in a book, and send it (to God's people)
. However, Revelation 10:4 says: And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not
. Thus, true prophecy comes from God and God decides what is revealed and what is not revealed.
John 16:17-18 tells us that the disciples were confused because they tried to understand prophecy by discussing it among themselves using their own natural reasoning. They could not understand the prophecy that way. The same is true for people today. That is why there are so many false prophets teaching error and doctrines of devils about unfulfilled prophecy. No person completely understands any unfulfilled prophecy of today, even though false prophets claim to do so. At least part of the details are hid from all men, by God, until after the fulfillment of the prophecy. Anyone who claims otherwise proves that they represent a devil.
Revelation 1:12-16 gives us a description of our Lord Jesus Christ
that John saw. That description must, obviously, be understood symbolically and spiritually. It is a simple example of a principal which applies to all prophecy. All prophecy must be understood symbolically and spiritually. However, like parables, God deliberately leads the lost and the carnal into errors. Therefore, there is a lot of wrong interpretation of Bible prophecy. We must look at the life to the person giving the interpretation and see if the true power of God is in their life. Are they willing to suffer in the flesh in order to serve God or does their life show evidence of pursuing the way of the world and the lusts of the flesh?.
Revelation 1:19-20 tell us that John was told to write prophecy and part of the symbolism, used in Revelation, was explained in those sentences. We need to be aware that devil-motivated men will try to give us wrong interpretations of prophecies. As a result, we need to reject all interpretations given by anyone who goes against an interpretation literally provided by the word of God
.
Please also check the Prophecy Fulfilled section since sometimes the prophecy and the fulfillment are put into a single note. Please also look at other sections, such as Harmony; for some prophecies such as prophecies for the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
.
The prophecies about the suffering and death and resurrection of God's Messiah / Christ
are an excellent example of how God fulfills prophecies. No one, including all of the religious leaders who lived at the time of Jesus
, understood earlier prophecies about the suffering and death and resurrection of God's Messiah / Christ
even though the prophecies were in the Old Testament.
suffering of Christ, and of the saved sharing in that suffering, include: Matthew 12:40; Matthew 16:21; Matthew 17:12; Matthew 17:23; Matthew 20:17-19; Matthew 26:11; Matthew 27:34; Mark 8:31; 9:9; Mark 9:12; Mark 9:30-32; Mark 10:32-34; Mark 14:64; Luke 9:22; Luke 9:43-44; Luke 11:30; Luke 18:31-33; Luke 24:6-7; Luke 24:25-26; Luke 24:46; John 2:19; John 3:14; John 8:28; John 12:32-34; 16:16; John 19:20; Acts 3:18; Acts 17:3; Acts 26:23; Romans 8:17; 2Corinthians 1:5; Galatians 6:12; Philippians 1:29; Philippians 3:8; Colossians 1:24; 1Thessalonians 2:14; 2Timothy 3:12; 1Peter 1:11; 1Peter 1:19; 1Peter 2:21; 1Peter 3:18; 1Peter 4:1; 1Peter 4:13; 1Peter 5:1; 1Peter 5:10. One of the main applications of the

Jesusreveals Judas as his betrayer as reported in Matthew 26:21-25; Mark 14:18-20; Luke 22:21; John 13:10; John 13:18-19; John 13:21-31. Luke 22:3 tells us
Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.Thus, we know that Satan was also involved. We also have references to this event in Psalms 41:9; 69:1-4; 6-8; 19-21; 25-26; 109:6; 8; Matthew 10:4; 17:22; 20:18; 26:2; 21; 23; 24; 45; 46; 48; 49; 27:3; 4; 26:24; Mark 3:19; 14:10; 11; 18; 21; 41; 42; 44; Luke 9:44; 22:4; 6; 21; 22; 48; John 6:64; 71; 12:4; 13:2; 11; 18; 21; 18:2; 5; 21:20; Acts 1:16-20; 1Corinthians 11:23. In addition, Psalms 109:4-20 is a prophecy about Judas Iscariot. In John 13:19
Jesussays:
Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. Thus, He gave this prophecy of His betrayal so that people would know that He was God's
Messiah / Christ. Please remember that Luke 24:25-26 says
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? Therefore,
Jesusprophesied His betrayal so that they would search the scripture and know that He was God's
Messiahs / Christ, and understand that He would rise from the dead. While we cannot know all of the details on unfulfilled prophecy before it is fulfilled, we should understand it enough to believe that God will keep His promises even while hiding exactly how He will do so.
Jesussaid that the prophecy about Elias returning was already fiulfilled by John the Baptist.
Jesusprophesized that He would be
scourged.. Matthew 27:26; Mark 15:15 and John 19:1 report that this prophecy was fulfilled.
Jesusprophesied that all of the disciples would be offended because of Jesus in Matthew 26:33-35 and Mark 14:27.
Jesusprophesied that Peter would deny knowing Jesus in Matthew 26:34; Mark 14:29-31; Luke 22:31-34; John 13:37-38 and John 16:32.
Jesusprophesied the arrival of Judas Iscariot and the mob to arrest Him just before they came and before the other disciples realized that the mob was coming. This sentence fulfills the prophecies of Psalms 41:9 and Psalms 55:12-15.

Jesusgave a prophecy to king Herod when He sent the message:
Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. The part of the message where

Jesusprophesied the coming of the Holy Ghost. The same promise is found in John 14:26 and John 15:26-27. However, that required His return to

I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. This means that
Jesuscame in the power and authority (
in the name of) God the Father, as He has explained in that chapter. Not only do we have the explanation of that chapter, but we have His demonstrated power in the miracles that He did and we have His demonstrated wisdom in His answering every doctrinal challenge given to Him.. In addition, our sentence tells us that Religious people accept the true Biblical
antichrists, who are in the world today and they will accept the
beastof Revelation. That will happen, of course, just before the return of Christ.
Jesusprophesied that the
stateof the Jews would be worse, after His crucifixion, than it was under Roman rule.

Jesusprophesied the experience called 'Transfiguration of Jesus Christ'.. That promise was fulfilled in Matthew 17:1; Mark 9:2 and Luke 9:28). These references also prophesy the return of

Jesusgave, for saved people to receive reward, and not punishment, when He returns to rule this world for 1,000 years. These instructions occur between the time that Peter declaring that

He also used the phrase:
a light to lighten the Gentiles, which references: Isaiah 9:2; Isaiah 42:6-7; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 60:1-3 and Isaiah 60:19. He also used the phrase:
and the glory of thy people Israel, which references: Psalms 85:9; Isaiah 4:2; Isaiah 45:25; Isaiah 60:19; Jeremiah 2:11and Zechariah 2:5. Then in Luke 2:34-35, we have more prophecies. The phrase:

Jesuswill change the way that God's people interact with God. This is actually a prophecy for the 1,000 years reign of
Christ. At the time that John the Baptist offered this prophecy, God was still offering the 1,000 years reign of
Christto the Jews. However, the Jews rejected
Jesusas their

Kingafter this prophecy was given. Therefore, God withdrew this offer to the Jews at a later time.

Jesusprophesied the coming future 'Church Age' and that members of the true church would fast after His ascension.

Jesus Christwill judge people in the future and how He will separate the truly saved from lost people who claim to be saved.
Jesusprophesies the lost being cast into Hell as the start of His rule of this World.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. This will happen after God makes a
new Heaven and new Earth.
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. This prophecy was fulfilled when the Jews were driven out of Jerusalem and the Arabs were allowed to take over and create their 'holy place' on the site of the Temple. In addition, the phrase
ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lordmeans that no Jew will personally (
ye) see their
Messiah / Christuntil they are willing to accept
Jesusas their personal
King.

the one shall be taken, and the other leftis speaking about the 'Rapture'. The phrase
in the day when the Son of man is revealedis speaking about the return of
Jesusto this Earth to rule.

Lord of lordsare the application of this truth when they are applied to
Jesus Christ. we find the forms of phrase:
King of kings, applied to

Jesusprophesied the experience called 'Transfiguration of Jesus Christ'.
Jesusprophesied that the disciples would find
a colt tied, whereon never man sat. This is a fulfillment of prophecies found in Zechariah 9:9 and in Genesis 49:10. In addition,
Jesusr5iding into Jerusalem is a fulfillment of Psalms 148 which show us how they praised
Jesusas He entered Jerusalem and the people thought that He would give then the kingdom. In addition, we are told that the
coltwas with its mother, which was an
ass.
Jesusprophesied that Lazarus would be raised from the dead. We see the prophecy fulfilled later in the chapter.
asswhile worldly and ungodly people rode a

Jesusknew what the man would ask and how he would respond even though
Jesuswas not sure which man would ask and respond. (Otherwise He would have given the man's name.) Therefore,
Jesuscould only say these exact things through prophecy.

Jesusannounced the birth of the 'Church Age' (
I will draw all men unto me) following His crucifixion (
if I be lifted up from the earth).
Jesusin spite of all of the miracles and other evidences which he provided. This was prophesied by Isaiah.
Jesussaid that the judgment of Judas would be different from the judgment of the remaining disciples.
Jesussaid that nothing could stop the fulfillment of the prophecy that God the Father would be glorified and that
Jesuswould be glorified in God the Father.
Jesuspromised and prophesied the saved would receive the indwelling Holy Spirit.
I sendis future tense, not past tense. The equivalent phrase in Luke (Luke 11:49-51) is:
I will send. Therefore, this is a prophecy of future events in the New Testament and not a reference to past events of the Old Testament.
Wheresoever this gospel's shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.. This was well before any of the New Testament was written and what is written in the new Testament is the basis for

Jesussending disciples to prepare a room for the last Supper. Before He sent them, He told them exactly what they would find, and the man to follow and the reaction of the owner of the house where they followed to man to.
Jesusthat true preachers of God's word would be persecuted.
Jesusprophesied that the dead would rise from their graves in John 5:28-29. This was fulfilled in Matthew 27:51-53. This is also when He fulfilled the prophecy of Mark 3:27.
Jesusprophesied exactly what the disciples would find when they went into the city to
prepare to eat the passover. The three (3) sentences following these references tell us that this prophecy was fulfilled exactly as
Jesushad prophesied.
Jesusprophesied that the disciples would be rejected and killed by people who thought themselves to be the
children of God.
Jesusprophesied the coming of the Holy Ghost.
Jesusprophesied the ministry of the Holy Ghost.
Jesusprophesied of future

Jesusprophesied that the disciples would be so full of wonder, joy and fear thet they won't be able to say anything.
Jesusprophesied that the disciples would all be scattered.
Jesusprophesied the judgment of all men by Himself in John 5:26-30.
Jesussaid that God (in response) would take the
Kingdom of Heavenfrom the Jews and give it to Gentiles.
Jesusprophesied His return to Heaven in John 7:33 and John 13:33. We see this prophecy fulfilled in Luke 24:51 and Acts 1:9.
Jesusprophesied the type of death that Peter would experience.
Jesusprophesied the future suffering of James and John.
But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. while this was an answer about
fasting, it prophesied the return of
Jesusto Heaven.
Jesusgave to explain the differences between the old religion of
the scribes and Phariseesas compared to the religious attitudes that were expected in the New Testament Church. These parables were actually prophetic of the changes which the New Testament would bring in. Please see the note for Luke 5:36-39 for a detailed explanation of these parables and their prophetic aspects.
Jesusprophesied the destruction of Jerusalem because they rejected Him and crucified Him. That was the physical destruction and when the Jews were driven out. In addition, this prophecy was also fulfilled with the destruction of the Temple and the Jerusalem Church. God used the Church of Antioch to take the Gospel around the world because even the saved Jews refused to do God' will.
Jesusreturning to Heaven until He returns to rule and reign this World as
Christ. Included in the prophecy is the parable because only the saved people who also bring a spiritual profit to God will be allowed to return with
Christ.
Jesusgave them a prophecy of future judgment upon the Jews.
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. This tells us that our
Lord Jesus Christis the true author. The
angelis: 'the messenger' who has a job to deliver the original message without altering it in any way. Think about if someone calls you on the phone and the function of the phone in that conversation. That is the function of God's 'the messenger' in delivering this Revelation. And, the 'the messenger' includes John and all of the
angelswho delivered the messages and sights to John for him to relay to us.
These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. This tells us that ALL prophecy, found in
the word of God, is
faithful and true. In addition, 2Timothy 3:16-17 says:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. That means that all of these prophecies are backed by the character of God. Any perversion of them is an attack on the character of God.
What thou seest, write in a book, and send it (to God's people). However, Revelation 10:4 says:
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. Thus, true prophecy comes from God and God decides what is revealed and what is not revealed.
Lord Jesus Christthat John saw. Are they willing to suffer in the flesh in order to serve God or does their life show evidence of pursuing the way of the world and the lusts of the flesh?.

as it is written, The just shall live by faith: This is quoting Habakkuk 2:4 where he said that the phrase came directly from God in a vision. This is a prophecy of the changed life during the church age due to saved having the indwelling Holy Spirit to direct their life if they obey in true Biblical faith.
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel:
Jesus Christwill be the judge of all men, both at the
judgment seat of Christand at the
great white throne.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: The saved who die to self (
have been planted together in the likeness of his death) will have a character and power of God (
shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection) that is like what
Jesus Christdisplayed after His resurrection.
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: This promise is not just for the here and now. Those saved people who also are truly
dead with Christwill return to
live with himfor His 1,000 years reign. (Some saved people will not be allowed to return because they refused to serve God after being saved.).
who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.: God the Father, working
through Jesus Christ our Lordwill give us a new body that does not have the corruption of sin and, therefore, does not have the influence to cause us to sin.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.: The truly saved who suffer for the service to
Jesus Christwill receive
glory, in Heaven, which is far beyond and suffering here in this life.

he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. This has an application for the saved during the 'Church Age' but the full interpretation of it will not happen until the 1,000 years reign of
Christ.
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.: This prophecy will be fulfilled when
Jesus Christreturns to rule this physical world. Only
a remnant shall be saved. All Jews living at that time will accept
Jesus Christas their personal
Lordand
Kingwhen He returns. All who will not do so will be killed during the
great tribulation.
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.: The Jews
stumbledat the position and doctrine of
Jesus Christ. And, many people of today also do the same. However, in this 'Church Age', saved people who truly put their
belief onthe person Who is
Jesus Christ, are not
ashamed, in this present time, and will not be
ashamedat the
judgment seat of Christ. Thus, we see this prophecy fulfilled today even if some people miss out on the promised blessing because they refuse to fulfilled the requirement to receive the blessing.

Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. This sentence is speaking about the ministers of Satan. However, it also applies to all followers of Satan and of
the doctrines of devils(1Timothy 4:1). Basically, it prophesies that the
endand their
judgment shall be according to their works. That is: destruction to all who support lies, especially lies which send others to hell.
Which in his (our Lord Jesus Christ) times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords. This is speaking (
prophesying) about the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
who (the Lord Jesus Christ) who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom. This means that the
judgment seat of Christ(Romans 14:10; 2Corinthians 5:10) will happen after the 'Rapture' and before the return of the
Lord Jesus Christto rule and reign this world.
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. This means that the

crowns. It also means that anyone who receives a
crownwill return with
Christto rule and reign this world for 1,000 years.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. This means that the saved but dead (

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. This means that that saved people in Heaven have not yet received their everlasting rewards and will not receive them until all saved, of the 'Church Age', are also in Heaven. Since rewards are given out at the
judgment seat of Christ, our sentence indicates that it will not happen until after the 'Rapture'.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy, and that

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up...all these things shall be dissolved...the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. This is when God brings judgment upon everyone who rejects Him and His right to rule them.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. This is a prophecy of the return of
Christand the judgment that He will bring against all the people and armies which follow the
beastof Revelation.
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. Thus, there are future events which were not revealed. In spite of what many people claim, this book is not about many revelations but is about a single revelation that
Jesus Christis
Lordof all. If a future event did hot reveal His
Lordship, then John was told to not write it down. Therefore, all future events which are revealed in this book are revealed for the purpose of letting men know that our
Lord Jesus Christis

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. This is not the Rapture because, at that time,
every eye shall seeonly dead bodied dropping to the ground as the souls and spirits of the truly saved abandon these corrupt bodies. No, this prophecy is about the 'Second Coming'. While most of the things reported in this book are in a time sequence, not all are. Thus, we have a summary statement then John returns to earlier events in time to provide more detains. Please also see the Prophecy Section, of the Significant Gospel Events Study, for more Bible references and links to this event.
Lord Jesus Christshall return and that He will return as
the Almighty. This sentence also gives us several secondary titles for our
Lord Jesus Christ, which tell us more about His character.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. In this sentence, the word
candlestickis applied to the church. However, it can also be applied to ministries, churches and individuals. Our
Lord Jesus Christdid not have John write this only to that church but also had it preserved unto today to provide a warning to all churches which acted in a similar manner. The church of Ephesus
left their first lovebecause they mixed doctrinal error with truth. England was given an empire which spanned the world, when they took the Gospel to the world, but then lost it because they also
left their first lovebecause they mixed doctrinal error with truth. Today, America is the mightiest nation on Earth because they took the Gospel to the world. However, they also have
left their first lovebecause they mixed doctrinal error with truth. Thus, we should not be surprised when God brings judgment upon America. In addition, we have see this same judgment applied to ministries, churches and individuals through history since the start of the 'Church Age'.
great tribulationis:
to try them that dwell upon the earth. Since the physical life of truly saved people, from the instant of their salvation until death, fulfills the same purpose, there is no need for them to go through the
great tribulation.
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? There is a disagreement about the interpretation of this sentence. The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge says: 'This seal seems a prediction of the terrible persecution of the church under Dioclesian and Maximian, from A.D. 270 to 304, which lasted longer, and was far more bloody, than any or all by which it was preceded, whence it was called "the era of the martyrs."'. Some claim that it is an application for the
great tribulation. However, the next sentence makes it clear that this sentence does not apply to people who come out of the
great tribulation.
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. There is a disagreement about the application of this sentence. Some claim that these promises are to all saved as soon as they get to Heaven. However, the prior sentence says:
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. And, our quote starts with the word
Therefore. As a result, these promises are limited to the people whom John identified within the context, which are martyrs and 'tribulation saints'. Please see the Book Study for more about these people as these particular promises are limited to them.

And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped him that liveth for ever and ever.

The note from The Morrish Bible Dictionary is extensive and includes 'Numbers are used as Symbols'. Be very careful about the use of This information. Much doctrinal error and division has been caused in God's church by preachers claiming that the symbolical meaning of numbers provided the single interpretation of
the word of Godand that the symbolic meaning actually corrected
the word of God. All symbolic meanings provide the many applications, must be understood within the context where they are found, and can vary from one application to another. Be careful to not use these symbols beyond their God-given purpose.

the beast...which hath the seven heads and ten horns. That
beastis the devil controlled government. Here we see the uniting of government and religion. Our chapter also tells us:
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. One devil motivated lie is that all saved will return with
Christto rule and reign with Him. Our sentence tells us that only those saved people whom God judges to have all three attributed of;
called, and chosen, and faithfulwill be allowed to return with
Christ.
Babylonand the reaction of lost and carnal men to the destruction of it. Our chapter ends by telling us why it was destroyed when it says:
in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
the marriage of the Lamband His
bride. After that, we read about
the Son of Godand what he is like as He returns to Earth and conquers. We are told that:
the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him...were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Then we are told that:
the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.. One important thing to pay attention to is that people in Heaven worshiped God for finishing the war even before He returned and did it. This is true Biblical
faith. We must worship God for accomplishing whatever he will do even before He starts to act.
Christ. It starts with the judgment of Satan. He was
bound a thousand years...in the bottomless pit. After that time, he was
loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. These are the descendants of those people who were allowed to go into the 1,000 year reign of
Christin their corrupt human bodies. The end result of this addition rebellion by Satan will be:
the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. After that, we have the
great white thronejudgment when all lost people will be
cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death. But, before that, each will be
judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. That judgment is to determine their level of torment in
the lake of fire. Our chapter ends with:
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. It also tells us that
God shall wipe away all tears from their (the saved) eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Be careful because there are several very popular lies which perverts this truth. God cannot
wipe away all tears from their eyesif the saved in Heaven do not have tears. The most popular lie claims: 'no tears in heaven and that all who profess to be saved will be in eternal bliss as soon as they die'. Our chapter makes it clear that that is a promise for the
new heaven and a new earth, which does not happen until after the saved, of the 'Church Age', have been in Heaven for at least 1,007 years. Our chapter also identifies all who will be cast
into the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. Then it describes the new
holy Jerusalem.
holy Jerusalem. It also tells us that our
Lord Jesus Christsays:
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book...and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. After that, we have an invitation and a final warning of:
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Our book ends with:
Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. As written earlier in this Book Study, it is a single
revelation(not many) and it reveals that our
Lord Jesus Christis
Lord of lords and King of kings.
