Verses using the major names of the Son of God.

Sections within the list of Verses include: Lord Only, Jesus Only, Christ Only, Lord Jesus, Lord Christ, Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ, Son, Son of God, Son of Man, Son of David, Saviour, King, Lamb.

The following divisions of verses are not ' hard and fast '.   They show that there are verses to support each of the points within the summary that I provided.   It is possible for verses to support more than one point and there could be many other ways to index these verses.   The reader may feel that a given verse that is listed under one point would support another point that it is not listed under and is free to add the verse to that point within their own notes.   I would also appreciate receiving updates.   However, the reasons that I provide (for grouping the verse) should be examined closely before saying that a given verse does not support the point that I say it does support. Many people have complained that I should not do any division of these names even though God provides the divisions within His Word.   However, I have found that ignoring God's divisions supports doctrinal error.   I am convinced that God will make them ashamed ( 2Timothy 2:15) at the judgment seat of Christ ( Romans 14:10; 2Corinthians 5:10-11) and I do not wish to share their fate.   Further, many people have problems with certain technicalities such as the use of punctuation.   However, the Bible is a book of Law (among other things) and technicalities (such as punctuation) have a very critical role in Law.   The fact that some people have problems with these technicalities is irrelevant.   The same is true with the Bible.   One of the very critical technicalities of law is that very specific definitions for words are used and the popular usage definitions don't matter.   The only definition that a court accepts is the definition provided and used within the Law.   The same is true for the Bible.   Thus many popular religions have their own definition for salvation , but their definition is irrelevant in the Court of God.   Likewise, popular religious beliefs for the various roles of the Son of God are irrelevant.   The only thing that matters is what the word of God actually teaches us is the definition used by God.   When God's Word provides a division, and God's Spirit shows me that division and tells me to take a message to God's people that these divisions are critical, the complaints of some people are irrelevant.  As I said, these divisions exist but others may differ on some minor point of division.   I will not argue these points, so long as they do not deny the existence of divisions within the word of God.   The reader is free to include more verses or subdivisions within these divisions that I have provided.   The reader is also free to include any verse in more than one division.   Additionally, the reader may divide some sub-points (like the Conditional blessings of Christ) differently than I do.   The main message is that I will not argue over minor differences of opinion so long as there is agreement on major doctrinal issues which are shown by the divisions that God provides in His Word.  For example, most verses that use Lord and Jesus (and are not saying Lord Jesus Christ ), use the two names separately in the same verse.   While these verses are listed under Verse - Lord Jesus, the use of Lord in those verses is also included in Verse - Lord Only and the use of Jesus is also included in Verse - Jesus Only.   Some people may want to argue about inclusion in one or more of these sections.   How the verse uses Lord by itself will be in Verses - Lord Only while how the verse uses Lord in relationship to the use of Jesus will be in Verse - Lord Jesus.   While this distinction can be subtle, it can also be doctrinally significant.   (One common technical error made by people is refusing to acknowledge the difference between a word that defines the relationship between two items and a word that describes a single item.) Therefore, consideration was made as to the use of Lord by itself in addition to the use of Lord in relationship to the use of Jesus within a given verse.   Also, consideration was made as to the use of Jesus by itself in addition to the use of Jesus in relationship to the use of Lord within a given verse.  Most verses that use Lord and Christ (while not saying Lord Jesus Christ ), use the two names separately in the same verse.   The note above for Lord Jesus above also applies for Lord Christ .  There is a separate Subject Study called Relational Prepositions which identifies verses that attach prepositions to Names of the Son of God in order to define our relationship to Him.   This is because there was some doctrinal disagreement over the attachment of these prefixes to the names of the Son of God.

Doctrinal item that salvation is started with the ministry of Jesus and is then perfected through the ministry of Christ .   These items are given to all saved, and emphasize that salvation requires both the ministry of Jesus and the ministry of Christ .   However, these verses do not emphasize the spiritual maturity after salvation like verses that use Christ Jesus , do.
    3. Combination of the roles of Jesus  and Christ.  These verses do not necessarily provide direct doctrinal support of salvation like the verses listed above do, but they support doctrines requiring the combination of the roles of Jesus and of Christ and that the salvation provided by each role is personal in nature.

    5. Receiving the Kingdom of God requires accepting salvation through Jesus Christ .

    3. Christ Jesus is Lord = The things commanded by God's the Son through His roles as Jesus and as Christ are backed up by the power and judgment of the Lord .   The verses that use Christ Jesus , as opposed to Jesus Christ emphasize the spiritual maturing after conversion and can be expected to show up at the Judgment seat of Christ .
    4. Christ Jesus = Blessings to some saved who have also matured spiritually.   These blessings are only to saved people, and are available to all saved, but spiritual maturity after profession is required.   Blessings that come after profession but are only given to some saved use Christ as opposed to Christ Jesus .   In these verses, spiritual maturity is more emphasized than for verses that use Jesus Christ :
    5. Christ Jesus = The man Jesus fulfilled a prophecy in the Old Testament that was about Christ .   This shows that Jesus is Christ .
    6. Please see the Study called Relational Prepositions for verses that use In/of/by/with Christ Jesus.
